My Take on ......*Cebu*

One of the most popular tourist destination in the Philippines, “Queen City of the South”, Cebu!  We fortunately got a sale from one airline last year (nine months ago to be exact).  Originally planned by a group of five but because of certain work schedules we are down to three, undecided to push with the trip but the explorer in us showered us with optimism that we will enjoy the entire adventure.

We arrived in Cebu early and had an early breakfast at Zubuchon, near the airport.  Zubuchon is a restaurant that offers Lechon Cebu, when Anthony Bourdain visited Philippines he tried and claimed it to be the ‘best pig ever”, actually you will see that phrase sticker, painted and printed on their kitchen glass window.  After the filling breakfast we headed to the North Bus Terminal to catch the bus going to Hagnaya where we will transfer to a barge that will bring us to Bantayan.  We chose to stay in Bantayan Island over Malapascua (maybe on our next visit we will visit Malapascua and Oslob).  After three hours bus ride and 1 hour barge ride we arrived in Bantayan in the afternoon.

We stayed in Kota Beach, where most of the travelers chose to stay; the resort is clean and serene.  Got a villa (not beach front) at Php 1,650.00 for 3 pax.  The amenities are super basic (a roll of tissue, shampoo sachet and a small soap).  Settled and rested for a while then changed and ready to hit the beach.

The sand is super white and fine almost powdery.  Jellyfish (in different colors) swim near the shore. We had fun wasting time by the beach and taking pictures.

Dinner time and we walked to one of the most raved resto in the island.  D’Jungle offers buffet with an array of 60 dishes.  And we are so lucky that night that we are informed that it was only on weekends! We were there Tuesday.  Nevertheless we still dine and ordered on their a la carte menu. A super sarap and filling dinner. (mura pa).

Super Duper Sarap na Baby Back Ribs!! Must try!

The next day we are back on track to the city.  Exploring a town, city, place or country on our own is what we enjoyed the most.  Just get a map and ask the locals to get directions.  Interacting or just wondering how the day to day of the people passed by is an appreciation of their culture, heritage and tradition.

We stayed in Hotel Stella, a new boutique hotel in the city, walking distance from the Rotonda and Robinson Mall.  The hotel has a modern and cozy ambiance.  A family room would cost you Php 1,950 (goor for 3 pax) that comes with a free breakfast.

Dinner at Larsian must not be missed for budget travelers (this is not advisable for picky eaters). Larsian is a place for barbecued pork, chicken, fish, squid and anything that can be roasted.

Our very own city tour started with a visit to Sto. Nino Church, a few more steps and the famous Magellan’s Cross, beside is the Fortuna Bakery where we had a quick snack.  We then head to Plaza Indepencia and Fort San Pedro.  Before going back to the hotel we stopped at a market to buy Danggit and Dried Pusit as pasalubong.  Make sure this is your last stop because the smell will adhere to your shirt and you will smell like dried fish the whole day.

We decided to check out and leave our bags at SM Travel Lounge (Php 50.00 for all our bags) and spend the entire afternoon to ourselves, so we won’t need to book another night because the scheduled flight back to Manila is around 10pm.

Lunch at a nearby popular lechon hub CnT Lechon, milk tea at the mall (mind you 3 milk tea in a day) and the reason why we love Cebu, the extreme adventure.

The Extreme Adventure on top of Crown Regency Hotel is for the adventurous.  You can avail the 3 ride combo which consists of Skywalk, Edge Coaster and Zipline for P1,000.00 but if you just want to see what’s happening you can get the Entrance pass for Php250.00 and additional Php 250.00 for every ride you want.  Good thing I don’t have Altophobia, and enjoyed my extreme experience.

I got my first certificate!
they have their own photographer (mahal lang pag binili mo)

edge coaster that leans 45 degrees

Over all Experience

Super Duper Okei  =) =) =) (Food, Adventure, Accomodation)
